FRAE

FNRAE is a state-approved Foundation for research in aeronautics and space, created in 2005 by the EADS Group, Thalès, Safran and Latécoère.

 

Objective : to define, promote and finance research programmes in public-private partnerships, in the field of space and aeronautics.

 

The Foundation awarded a budget: 7 M€ de 2005/2011

Research programmes financed since 2005 :

  • Security and safety in air transport
  • Development of technologies to minimise the impact on the environment
  • Overall efficiency of the air transport system
  • Rise in space applications for sustainable development and risk management
  • Strengthening the technological database required for the strategic independence of aerospace industries.

In 2010, two new calls for proposals for acommon White Programme by the French research agency:

  • Advanced aerodynamics, aero-acoustics, and jet turbulence
  • On-board systems
